RAW MAKHANA

Three things. First, our makhana is grown and processed in our own facility in Madhubani, Bihar — the region in India where makhana grows in natural lakes. Second, we work directly with the farmers who harvest it, so every batch is traceable. Third, we air-pop our makhana — never deep fry — which means no palm oil, no excess fat, and a crunch that lasts. We also manufacture in-house, so quality stays consistent batch after batch.

Soota is the traditional Indian grading system for makhana — it measures the size of the foxnut. Higher soota = larger makhana. We offer three grades, each suited to different use cases:
- NutriGear Shahi (4 Soota, 13mm+) — small-medium foxnuts. Best for: daily snacking, makhana curries, kheer, raita, chaat, tadka in dals, kids' tiffin boxes, bhel, and roasting at home with everyday masalas.
- NutriGear Select Reserve (13mm to 20mm) — a hand-mixed pack with three premium size grades in one. Best for: households that use makhana in multiple ways and snack with them, festive sweets
- NutriGear Premia (5+ Soota, 15mm+) — our largest, finest grade. Best for: direct snacking, corporate and wedding gifting, premium hampers, fasting (Navratri / Ekadashi / vrat), parties and entertaining, paneer-style makhana sabzi where size matters visually, and anyone who wants the showstopper experience.

Keep your makhana in an airtight container in a cool, dry place — away from direct sunlight and humidity. If your makhana feels slightly soft over time, microwave it for 2–3 minutes and the crunch is right back. Unopened, our packs have a shelf life of 3 months from the date of manufacture. -
It depends on how you like to eat them.
Pick roasted if you want a ready-to-eat, flavoured snack — open the jar, pour into a bowl, done. We have five flavours from mild (Classic Salted) to spicy (Peri Peri).
Pick raw if you like to roast or cook them yourself — with your own ghee, masala, or recipe. Raw also works in traditional dishes like makhana kheer, sabzi, and chaat.
Many of our customers buy both.

Three things. First, they're single-origin and small-batch — every spice is sourced from one trusted farm or region, not blended from random suppliers, so the flavour stays true and consistent. Second, they're ground fresh in small batches, never sitting in warehouses for months losing their punch. Third, there's nothing in the jar except the spice itself — no artificial colour, no fillers, no anti-caking agents, no extenders. What grandmothers used to cook with, packed for your kitchen.

Whole spices win on shelf life and peak aroma — but most of us don't grind fresh at home every day. The honest middle ground is freshly ground, small-batch spices stored well — which is exactly what we make. Each batch is ground close to its packing date, sealed against light and air, and shipped within weeks of grinding.
So unless you're roasting and grinding your own spices weekly, our jars will outperform what most kitchens actually run on. Use them within 6–9 months of opening and you'll get whole-spice-level flavour without the daily ritual.
